Smacked Silly is an addictive mix of intelligence and ignorance. Our off-tilt approach to blogging focuses on life-changing guidance and insight. That alone would make us an ordinary, boring ass blog. But ordinary we are not. We’re Smacked Silly biatches!, the must-read source of ancient wisdom and knowledge. If you consistently read our blog, you will live an extraordinary life full of wealth, power, philanthropy, and exotic sex with beautiful people. Well not really. Although we do seek to inspire and motivate minds, ultimately we’re not that serious. We try to keep things lighthearted and hilarious most of the time. We believe the best times in life come from either triumph or humor, so we focus 100% of percent of our energy towards making you laugh your way to a lifetime WIN.

A word from the founder: Ashtian C. Holmes

I started Smacked Silly in 2011 because I felt the need to create a one-stop solution for practical self-help, progressive ideas, humor, and most important, what I call “intelligent ignorance“.

The concept of “intelligent ignorance” revolves around the fact that most successful people were repeatedly told:

• no
• stop
• don’t
• you shouldn’t have
• you won’t
• you can’t
• WTF are you thinking?
• your momma should have discarded you at birth

and other similar phrases, yet they pressed on to a WIN. So in a sense one could say that they were “ignorant” to the negativity around them.

To simply put it, “intelligent ignorance” is being smart enough to accomplish your goals, but too dumb to let other people with “common sense” keep you from your dreams. If knowledge is power, and ignorance is bliss, why not strive for both?

How can you remain ignorant while being intelligent? Easy. Keep your sense of humor. I have a strong belief that one should always be learning, and laughing. Because without laughter and knowledge, life would really suck.
